
Dr. James Hoeger is a business consultant who works with industry leaders, managers, and boards of directors to chart, navigate and guide activities to achieve successful outcomes.

Dr. Hoeger has international experience, having worked in Germany and Brazil, and has diverse experience, having worked in the food, nuclear, petrochemical and chemical industrial sectors with varying responsibilities including:
- Strategic Planning: Optimizing polyacrylate superabsorber process design for a major corporation and developing short-term and long-term strategic plans with economic impact and risk management assessments.
- Process Design and Development: Designing Process Flow Diagrams and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams for the food and chemical industries.
- Portfolio and Project Management: Managing small project portfolios and multi-million-dollar plant expansion projects.
- Process Safety: Facilitating process safety reviews in PSM-regulated and non-regulated sites.
- Process Control: Programming and documenting DCS control systems.
- Plant and Production Management: Managing plant and production facilities in the chemical industry, creating a safety culture, developing operational procedures, and training personnel.
- Engineering Mentoring: Developing a mentoring program and mentoring several graduate engineers in career development with a focus on project management.
Qualifications
Dr. Hoeger earned his PhD in Business and Project Management from Capella University and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina and a certified Project Management Professional.

Dr. Hoeger has facilitated training programs and has been a project management roundtable speaker.
Community Service
Dr. Hoeger serves on the Board of Directors for the non-profit organization Guidance Carolina. He is also active in Step-Up Greensboro and various other community service activities.

James resides in Greensboro, NC with his wife of 49 years. He enjoys golf, travelling, and reading.
